Regional Development
Last year we led a team delivering regional economic development planning
under the AusAID IASTP III program for three provinces of Indonesia.
This was a challenging project which grafted together “train-the-trainer”
(TOT) skill with practical strategies for development. We were assisted
by two excellent Indonesian economists from the Indonesian Government’s
official research body, LIPI. These were Dr Latif Adam and Ms Esta
Lestari—both with post-graduate degrees from Australia, as well as
two very able TOT experts.
Bilateral Relations
At the end of 2008 Peter Dawson facilitated a Scoping study to identify
bilateral projects under the Australia-Indonesia Working Group on Agriculture,
Forestry and Food Cooperation.
P J Dawson “Goes LEAN”
At mid 2009 we are negotiating two projects under the Australian Government’s
Enterprise Connect program which will apply “Lean thinking” principles—the basis upon which Toyota built “Just-in-Time” manufacturing and
emerged as the world’s leading manufacturer of motor vehicles as well
as our long-established core skills in business analysis and strategic
planning.
ARITHMETIKA
This computer-based maths learning program has been developed over five
years by senor Canberra maths teacher, Tony Allan. It is far and away
the most advanced and flexible maths teaching software available anywhere
in the world. Peter Dawson has worked with Tony on business planning
and promotional aspects of the project which has significant national
and international potential. It promises to be another in a succession
of success stories for Canberra-based IT and technology companies.
